Walking for Water believes that small-scale, concrete projects make the difference in the lives of people in poverty. That is why Wilde Ganzen supports sustainable development projects set up by enthusiastic Dutch people together with the local population. That is our way of combating poverty. From 2016-2017, Walking for Water, in partnership with Rafiki wa Maendeleo Trust, set out to support in building capacity at one of the Community-owned Water service providers in Rarieda Sub- County in Siaya County, Kenya in line with their mission of spearheading sustainable development in communities. Support given in this period focused on renovation of existing concrete and masonry water tanks, construction of new tank bases and installation of 10,000 litre tanks in different project locations and advocating for women and youth to take part in running some of the water structures to aid their self-help groups with income generation. Walking for Water support can simply be termed as incredible! We look forward for further partnership on this journey of transforming our communities.
